Chelsea have been trying really hard to sign Philippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona and some rumours have even claimed that the player has agreed on a deal to join the Blues.

Coutinho moved to Barcelona from Liverpool a couple of seasons ago but the Brazilian has found it really hard to cement a place in the first XI which is why he’s been spending the current campaign out on loan to Bayern Munich.

Bayern do have a buying clause at the end of the loan period but as per reports, the Bavarians are not going to trigger this clause meaning Philippe Coutinho will be heading back to Spain in the summer.

But various experts have been of the view that the player will be returning back to the Premier League with Chelsea being the next possible destination.

Now according to the playmaker’s agent Kia Joorabchian, Coutinho is yet to hold talks with any of his possible suitors.

He said, via Metro: “At the moment, we have not spoken to anybody about any deals whatsoever.

“I think at the moment everyone’s concentration is regarding this pandemic and how football can restart the season in a secure environment and over the health and safety of everybody.

“I think the transfer side of things and where he will go or where people will go will come into play down the line when things have got back to some sort of normality.”

This clearly suggests that Chelsea are yet to make a formal move for the 27-year-old but they still remain the favourites to land him in the summer.

Clubs like Spurs and Arsenal are also interested in Philippe Coutinho but we think the player will want to join a club where he can get Champions League football and right now Chelsea are the only club which can provide it at the moment.

Barcelona spent £142 million to sign the player from Liverpool but if they are serious about offloading him in the summer they will have to lower their asking price by less than 50% of what they actually paid for him.
