Arsenal and Tottenham played out a 1-1 draw in the Premier League this weekend and this was one of the more exciting North London Derbies we had seen in recent times.

Aaron Ramsey put the Gunners in front but then Harry Kane cancelled it out with a penalty in the 74th minutes.

The Gunners though had the chance to pick up all three points but it was Aubameyang who missed a penalty during the dying minutes of the match.

Arsenal also ended the match with 10 men after midfielder Lucas Torreira was sent off for a tackle on Spurs’ Danny Rose.

Unai Emery claimed that he did not see the Lucas Torriera incident but went on to claim that it was Danny Rose who was in fact luck to stay on the pitch.

“I didn’t watch the footage for this, but it says to me one assistant can come with more of a sanction for Rose,” he said.

“But, I think on the TV, we can watch better these individual actions to make the best decision. But VAR is coming [to help referees’ decisions].”

The midfielder looked completely disappointed with the decision and after leaving the pitch in a hurry, he waited inside the tunnel in order to confront the match officials.

But according to a report, it was Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who put some sense into the player thus helping him receive an extended ban.

The report suggests that Pochettino walked up to Lucas Torreira and told to him in Spanish that it was indeed a genuine attempt to win the ball but he should not aggravate the situation by arguing with the referee.

Pochettino knows a thing or two about these kinds of situations since he has just been punished for his verbal outrage with the officials after Spurs’ 2-1 loss to Burnley a couple of weeks ago.

The red card means that Lucas Torreira will now miss the game vs Man United next weekend which means that Matteo Guendouzi will have to play in midfield alongside Granit Xhaka.
