Liverpool picked up a crucial win over Spurs at Anfield last Sunday which could just have changed the whole look of the Premier League table.

For once, the Reds moved back to the table leapfrogging over Manchester City and on the other hand, the Lilywhites have now lost their third spot to Arsenal.

The Gunners won their respective league game vs Newcastle on Monday which means they are now two points clear at the third spot while Spurs have moved down to fourth(at the time of writing this article).

While many people are focusing on the dramatic own goal that Alderweireld scored during the dying minutes of the match but very few people seem to be crediting Spurs for their superb display all throughout the man.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men started the game on the back foot and went behind pretty early thanks to a Roberto Firmino goal.

And it is safe to say that the Lilywhites were the second best team for the whole of the first half.

But in the second half, everything changed, thanks to Pochettino’s tactical brilliance which has now been pointed out by Alan Shearer.

“Liverpool were worth their half-time lead, but Mauricio Pochettino’s tactics changed the game after the break,” Shearer said.

“The Spurs boss moved to a back-four and pushed Danny Rose further forward.

“It led to them deservedly levelling, with right-back Kieran Trippier much more advanced to find Lucas Moura. Pochettino’s tactical switch made a huge difference and it should have won Spurs the game.”

Pochettino’s tactical switch almost helped Spurs pick up three points but sadly no one will remember these minute details if the North London club fail to finish in the top-four at the end of the season.
