Chelsea and Arsenal go head to head in the Premier League this week and both teams are dealing with a series of injury concerns.

Here’s a look at the latest injury news from both sides.

Chelsea injury updates – Premier League:

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic are both ruled out for this match but after being sidelined for a couple of weeks, Marcos Alonso has finally returned back to training for the Blues and will be available for selection when the Gunners come to the Bridge.

Reece James picked up a knee injury during Chelsea’s loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League during the weekend and going by Lampard’s recent statement, the youngster is not expected to be fit in time to take on Arsenal.

‘He’s got an injury to the back of his knee area,’ the boss revealed.

‘It’s not as bad as it could have been or we maybe thought so he’s in contention for tomorrow but it’s going to be a tight call.

‘We’ll give him another 24 hours to see if it settles down but it’s settled down pretty quickly so far. I was concerned because he had injuries at the start of the season with his ankle but when it wasn’t that I was quite happy. Hopefully, he’ll be involved tomorrow, if not for the weekend.’

Arsenal injury updates:

Arsenal are without both Kieran Tierney and Calum Chambers who are currently sidelined for lengthy periods.

While Tierney is expected to return back to action in March, Chambers though will miss the rest of the season.

Apart from these two long-term injuries, Sead Kolasinac and Reiss Nelson also remain sidelined and the club have confirmed that the duo will not be returning back before the winter break.

But right now, Mikel Arteta is sweating over the fitness of Sokartis who will have to go through a late fitness test in order to determine his availability. And if he cannot be fully fit then the manager will have to name Mustafi alongside David Luiz and it’s a sight no one would really want to see.
