English Premier League

Twelve games have been played in the Premier League this season and now we can have a pretty fair idea of the teams which could make it to the top four by the end of May.

Man City and Liverpool obviously will be in there and the kind of football that Leicester City are playing this season, it’s safe to predict they too might be playing in the Champions League next year.

But on the other hand, teams like Arsenal, Man United and Spurs have made really poor starts to the 2019-20 season and right now they are struggling to even string together winning results.

And according to Harry Redknapp, Spurs have a slight advantage over the other two strugglers.

‘Tottenham have it all on now to get in the top four this year,’ Redknapp wrote for the Sun[as quoted by The Metro].

‘The only thing now in their favour is that Arsenal look so poor. Chelsea are doing great, they’re going to be challenging. Leicester are going to be bang in there.

‘But you’re looking at Arsenal, and Manchester United, and wondering if they are going to make it this year.

‘I can see both of those two not making the top four unless there is a big improvement.

‘It’s been a disappointing season so far for Spurs, I really thought they would be close to Manchester City and Liverpool and challenging.

‘It’s difficult. The players haven’t hit the form they did last year. I’m a big fan of the manager and hopefully, they can turn it around.’

Right now Spurs have the worst record amongst the three sides having failed to win even a single match during their last five outings in the Premier League.

Arsenal too are going through a turmoil as Unai Emery is on the verge of being shown the door and right now the Gunners are just waiting for the transfer window to re-open so that they can go out and buy some reinforcements.

But Man United might be the luckiest of the lot since their form has largely been due to the injuries to some of their best players.

The likes of Pogba, Martial, Shaw have all been sidelined with injuries but now one by one they are returning back to full fitness and it seems their performances too are getting a boost.
