PSG want Luis Diaz Parc des Prices PSG
Parc des Prices PSG

According to a report by a Spanish source Todo Fichajes, PSG are preparing a massive offer for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz which is going to be a major blow for Barcelona.

One of Barcelona’s priorities in the summer will be to bring in a new left-winger and Luis Diaz happens to be one of their most important targets. However, as per the rumours, PSG are preparing to offer a mouth-watering €90 million for the South American winger.

PSG have been knocked out of the Champions League and they are now set to lose Kylian Mbappe at the end of this season. The management are actively out in the market for a new left-winger and while they have also been linked with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, it looks like PSG are more interested in Luis Diaz.

Will Liverpool sell Luis Diaz and can Barcelona compete for the winger?

It’s being claimed that Liverpool are open to selling Luis Diaz in the summer especially if they can tie Mo Salah down to a contract. And now, this potential €90 million offer from PSG will set the alarm bells ringing at Anfield.

Diaz joined Liverpool in 2022 and since then, the Colombian international has been the preferred left-winger at the club. This season, he’s played in 35 Premier League games, scoring 8 and assisting 5 goals.

PSG will free up a lot of space once Mbappe leaves for Real Madrid so they can very well pay €90 million for the Liverpool forward. However, there’s no way Barcelona can compete with the French giants, even if Diaz will prefer a move to Camp Nou over the other suitors.

Barcelona cannot find €60 million to pay Bernardo Silva’s release clause so there’s no way they can come up with €90 million for Luis Diaz. It’s only if Xavi gives up his dream of signing Silva from Man City can the Catalans even think of making contact with Liverpool.

Diaz has been an ever-present figure under Jurgen Klopp and we are sure he can play a key role under Arne Slot as well. However, if PSG are really ready to pay this massive transfer fee, the Anfield outfit are most likely going to cash in.

They can use this money to bring in a replacement and even if they do not find a good left-winger immediately, the likes of Gakpo and Diogo Jota can operate in the same role so filling up that space won’t be an issue.
