Michael Olise Crystal Palace

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have already been linked with Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and as per Mail Online, Newcastle United have become the latest club to join this transfer race.

The 22-year-old is in his third season with Palace and this campaign has been the coming of age for him. In 17 Premier League appearances so far, the right-winger has scored 9 and assisted four games with an xG and xA of 4.61 and 4.05 respectively. He’s delivered some fine performances this season and his latest one came on Monday when he absolutely dismantled Manchester United’s defence at Selhurst Park.

Olise’s contract with the Eagles expires in 2027 and while the club would love to hold onto him, they are helpless because the winger has a £60 million release clause which becomes active at the end of this season.

The way Michael Olise has played this season, it’s almost inevitable that one of the several interested clubs is going to trigger his release clause and now, the winger will have to do the difficult job of choosing which move best suits his career.

Moving to Arsenal:

Arsenal have scouted Olise a couple of times but he’s the least likely to join the Gunners because Arteta already has Bukayo Saka in that right-winger’s role and there’s no way the Palace man is going to play second-fiddle to the England international next season. The Gunners have no plans to offload Saka either so going after Olise makes little sense.

Joining Newcastle United:

The Magpies are the latest club who have shown an interest and even if they can find a Champions League spot next season, it’s unlikely that Michael Olise is going to join Eddie Howe’s team.

Newcastle have done fairly decently since the new owners took over but with all the big boys interested in him, we don’t think Olise will think of heading to St James’ Park.

Will Michael Olise remain in London?

Chelsea have shown some serious interest in the 22-year-old but we think the Blues are going to back off as the summer rolls along because Cole Palmer has been brilliant in that role plus they have Madueke as a backup which is why the Blues do not need to waste money on a right-winger.

A move to Liverpool possible?

Liverpool’s Mo Salah has been tipped to leave for the Saudi Pro League and if the Egyptian international heads out then Arne Slot could very well ask his new owners to go and get Michael Olise. However, if Liverpool hold onto Salah they are unlikely to make any concrete moves for the Palace winger.

Also, Michael Olise is not their only right-wing target as they have also been keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Raphinha.

Michael Olise to Manchester United:

A move to Man United perhaps makes the most sense for the young winger because there will be a gaping hole on United’s right flank as the club prepares to sell Antony while Mason Greenwood is not returning to the club. United are going to enter another overhaul in the summer and they won’t mind paying £60 million for the Palace star.

However, it will be interesting to see if Michael Olise opts to join Man United even if they miss out on Champions League football next season.
