Rangers FC have so far lost just a single game during the 2019-20 season and next up they will take on Livingston in the quarter-final of Scottish League Cup.

The Gers topped Group F winning each one of their matches and Wednesday’s clash at the Almondvale Stadium will be a very crucial affair as far as Gary McAllister is concerned.

The Rangers assistant has claimed that if the Gers can manage to win the League Cup then it will send out a positive message to the fans which will help set the tone for the rest of the season.

He said(as quoted by STV): “I think a first trophy would bring back a greater belief, within the club and the fantastic fan base that we’ve got here – the people that come to Ibrox.

“So getting that first one is crucial and this is the one that comes early.

“This is an early opportunity to try and get to Hampden.

“It’s the first of the four competitions that we’re in that the final comes upon us, so we’re just trying to keep the momentum going. People might look at it and say it’s at the bottom of our priority list but no – I think this club needs to win.

“So we’ll be very, very strong and our preparation will be diligent going into this game, just like it’s been in this recent run of great results.

“This is an early opportunity to try and get to Hampden so we’re trying to keep momentum going.”

Rangers will be beaming with confidence after beating St Johnstone 4-0 in the Premiership last weekend. So picking up a win vs Livingston on Wednesday shouldn’t be a big cause of concern for the Teddy Bears.

Another big reason why Rangers should not falter vs Livi is because the home side have not picked up a win in their past two matches.
