Rangers FC had a catastrophic 2017-18 season and to ensure such a calamity was not repeated the management appointed former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard as their new boss earlier on during the summer.
And ever since taking charge of the club, the Liverpool legend has made sure he revamps almost every aspect of the team.
From changing his backroom staff to bringing in as many as 14 new players – the manager has done it all during the summer transfer window.
He also made sure that no unnecessary player stuck around with the club for the new season choosing to sell and loan out a number of his players.
And all this work over the past three months has clearly reaped benefits given that Gerrard has successfully guided the club to the Europa League.
But the Light Blues suffered their first defeat of the new season when they lost to Celtic 1-0 away from home. And with this loss, reality has finally started setting in as many claim that Gerrard has a lot more work to do if he wishes to catch up with their Glasgow rivals.
While the Gers fans are still optimistic that their club is heading in the right direction under their new boss, Chris Sutton put out a tweet on Sunday which clearly shattered the bubble that a lot of fans were living in.
According to Chris Sutton, apart from making it to the Europa League, there’s nothing much that Steven Gerrard has done and this is, in fact, the worst league start that the club have made in 29 years.

Every Scottish club has played four games before they head into the international break and the harsh reality is that the Light Blues have managed to win only a single game and are currently seventh on the league table with just five points.
Celtic, on the other hand, have won three out of the four games that they have played despite have a poor transfer window.
So much for the Gerrard revolution.
