Rangers FC take on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this Sunday but before the match, one of their former players has spoken against Gerrard’s side.

The Gers are currently second on the league table with 67 points while their Glasgow rivals are on top of the table – 13 points ahead of them.

Rangers started the season in fine form and they looked all set to overturn the Celtic dominance. But as the season has rolled along, Gerrard’s men have dropped unnecessary points which is why they have fallen out of the title race.

And according to Charlie Adam, his former side lack the resilience or the cutting edge which is required to break down stubborn sides.

Adam told on BBC Sportsound (10/03): “You either have thick skin or you don’t.

“I’ve had that in my career where, if you make a mistake, you make a mistake. That’s part of it. It’s how you react after that mistake.

“And I think that, what I see with Rangers at the moment, they just don’t have that cutting edge like a Forrest or a Christie.

“When teams sit in against them, they just don’t have someone who’s guile enough to go and play that pass or when they play that pass and it doesn’t come off, they just think ‘oh the pressure is off me and the fans are on me’.”

Before the start of the season, a lot of pundits had firmly predicted that Rangers will be able to challenge Celtic for the Premiership title this time around but once again the Gers have failed to hold onto their good form all throughout the season.

Rangers play in the Europa League in midweek meaning Gerrard’s men will go into this match a bit tired while Celtic will be free since their last match was a 5-0 win against St Mirren on Saturday.

So all in all, this Old Firm Derby has the recipe for yet another Bhoys victory.
