Rangers FC are planning to bring in a few new players during the January transfer window and Gerrard is looking to sign a few midfielders.

Ovie Ejaria has decided to cut his loan spell short and head back to Liverpool meaning the Gers are short in the midfield department.

And during the past couple of weeks, there have been rumours that Steven Gerrard is planning to make a move for Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara.

Kamara came up through the ranks at Arsenal and then went on to join the Premiership outfit in 2017.

Since then the Finland international has made great strides – impressing everyone with his performances.

A number of clubs were said to be interested in signing the 23-year-old but it was being believed that the midfielder wanted to stay back in Scotland making Rangers FC the favourites to land him.

But now it seems that Glen Kamara has changed his mind and is heading back to the Premier League.

The defensive midfielder has reportedly agreed to join Cardiff City.

Kamara is out of contract with Dundee at the end of the season which means that he will sign a pre-contract with the Premier League club in January.

The report also suggests that once the pre-contract is in place, Cardiff City might make the move to sign him permanently next month – if not then the player will move out for free during the summer.

This news will come as a huge blow for Rangers who were eyeing up a bid for Glen Kamara as a potential replacement for Ovie Ejaria.
