Rangers FC manager Steven Gerrard had already made close to a dozen signings at the club but it seems that his spending spree is not yet over.

Gerrard has signed three midfielders since he took charge of the Gers in the form of Lassana Coulibaly, Ovie Ejaria and Scott Arfield but the former Liverpool midfielder is planning to bring in another midfielder – according to reports.

During the past couple of days, multiple reports have claimed that the Light Blues are interested in signing Manchester City youngster Kean Bryan and now Gerrard has more or less confirmed his club’s interest in the player.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the Gers manager has made it clear that his club hold a substantial interest in Kean Bryan hinting at the fact that Rangers could make a move in the coming few days.

Gerrard said: “I’ve got nothing to say on it at the moment because he’s not our player, but there is an interest.”

Bryan is a Manchester City academy player who started his career as a box-to-box midfielder but slowly he had developed the expertise in playing as a centre-back.

Kean Bryan spent the 2017-18 season out on loan to League Two side Oldham Athletic where he played 36 games – scoring 2 goals.

The 21-year-old had a wonderful season with Oldham and was named the Young Player of the Year at the club but now that he has returned back to Manchester City, Pep Guardiola is expected to offload him permanently.

Reports suggest that a move for Kean Bryan will set back the Rangers by almost £2.5 million which is a bit of an issue given the fact that the club have already splashed a fair amount of cash this summer.

But given the fact that Kean Bryan can play both in midfield and as a centre-back, the 21-year-old will be nothing sort of an asset for the Ibrox outfit – more so because Steven Gerrard is also in the hunt for a backup defender.
