Rangers FC will take on Kilmarnock in the Premiership during the midweek fixture at Rugby Park.

And this game will hold a lot of importance for the top three teams on the league table.

While a win for the Gers would take them top of the table – momentarily, but a win for Kilmarnock would mean that Gerrard’s men will slide down to third spot and Killie will leapfrog over them.

But before the game, the Rangers medical staff have provided some good news.

The club have confirmed that left-back Borna Barisic has recovered from his injury and will be available for selection during the Wednesday night fixture.

Borna Barisic joined the club during the summer but the player has failed to become a regular feature up until now.

The fullback has constantly been troubled with a calf injury which has forced him to make only nine appearances for the Teddy Bears this season.

The return of Borna Barisic will undoubtedly be a huge plus for the manager but Gerrard will also be a bit weary with the fact that Barisic will be playing after a brief absence.

Rangers have also claimed that Connor Goldson is not fit to take part against Kilmarnock and will only be back for the weekend fixture.

Gerrard though, should not miss Goldson too much given he has three full fit centre-backs to choose from.

Joe Worrall, Nikola Katic and Gareth McAuley are all fit and two of them will start on Wednesday.

If Kilmarnock manages to beat Rangers then they will move to the top of the table – depending on how Celtic fare in their home game against St Mirren.
