Rangers FC will take on Aberdeen in the quarter-finals replay of the Scottish Cup on Tuesday.

And this match could be very important in the managerial career of Steven Gerrard.

The Gers are still fighting for the Premiership title but most people feel that it will be Celtic who will tip their arch-rivals to lift the trophy at the end of the season.

So in such a scenario, winning the Scottish Cup becomes really important for Rangers since this might be the only silverware they get to win this season.

But going into this match vs Aberdeen, the Rangers boss has a few selection issues to worry about since they were held to a 1-1 draw the first time around.

The club have confirmed that centre-back Gareth McAuley has been ruled out of the midweek fixture due to a hamstring injury.

While Gerrard will miss the experience of the defender but the manager has the perfect replacements in the form of Joe Worrall and Conor Golson.

The pair has been the mainstay in defence for Rangers in the recent past and they are once again expected to start vs Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Reports also suggest that Borna Barisic will return to the first XI during the Scottish Cup game after the player missed the 1-1 draw vs Hibernian on Friday.

Before the first encounter, everyone expected the Gers to come out with a win but Aberdeen have proved that Rangers are not as tough as they look.

And now in the replay, no one is really ready to put money on Rangers but the harsh reality is that they need to win this encounter or else there is every possibility that the Ibrox outfit will go trophyless for one more season.
