Rangers FC are currently fourth on the Scottish Premiership table with eight points and will take on St Johnstone at Ibrox on Sunday.

St Johnstone have the same points as the Light Blues but are sixth on the league table due to goal difference.

The match should not be a major concern for Steven Gerrard but the fact that a number of their players will be tired from the Europa League encounter could be a game changer for the Glasgow outfit.

Rangers team news vs St Johnstone:

The major Rangers team news is the fact that Alfredo Morelos will return back to the squad in place of Kyle Lafferty who played as the lone striker on Thursday.

During the previous couple of games, Gerrard has been opting to play with two strikers up front but against St Johnstone, he will definitely try and give Lafferty a much-deserved rest meaning Alfredo Morelos will be on his own up front.

Joe Worrall started against Villarreal in midweek but the centre-back will drop down to the bench after an unimpressive debut for the Gers and Nikola Katic will take his place in the defensive line.

Jon Flanagan was suspended for the Europa League clash but will return back to the starting XI replacing Borna Barisic at left-back.

The midfield trio of Scott Arfield, Halliday and Lassana Coulibaly produced a superb display against Villarreal and will hopefully retain their spot in the first XI.

Ryan Kent will start on the left flank while Candeias will start on the right-hand side.

Rangers predicted line up:

Goalkeeper: McGregor

Defence: Flanagan, Katic, Goldson, Tavernier

Midfield: Halliday, Coulibaly, Arfield.

Attack: Kent, Morelos, Candeias.
