Tottenham wants to sign this LaLiga winger who’s previously been linked with Liverpool: Does he have any desire to leave Spain?

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Barcelona winger Raphinha this summer, claims Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness).

Raphinha left the shores of England in 2022 to secure his dream move to Barcelona and in these two years, he’s done fairly decently at Camp Nou. In 85 appearances across all competitions, the winger has scored 19 and assisted 24 goals for the Catalans.

His contract with the club is due to expire in 2027 so ideally Barca are in no hurry to offload him but the need for funds might force the club to sacrifice him, along with several other first-team players, at the end of this season.

Liverpool have been previously linked with Raphinha as they scout for a successor for Mo Salah and now, Spurs are also interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.

Liverpool or Spurs: Which will be a better move for Raphinha?

At Anfield, Raphinha will have the opportunity to replace Mo Salah out on the right wing but that will only happen if the Egyptian leaves in the summer.

There have been several rumours that the Merseyside outfit are bracing for a massive offer from Saudi side Al-Ittihad and if that is the case then Liverpool will definitely come knocking on Barcelona’s door.

However, if Salah shows faith in the new manager and stays put then Spurs will most likely be the only interested English club.

Ange’s plans have fallen flat in the previous couple of weeks as Tottenham have suffered some majorly humiliating defeats and the manager will definitely need to freshen up his squad in the coming months.

A player like Raphinha will add competition for Kulusevski who currently plays on the right flank but the Lilywhites will have to dig deep into their pockets if they are serious about signing him. Raphinha’s current valuation is €50 million so Barca will demand a hefty transfer fee.

Raphinha has started only 15 LaLiga games this season, missing around two months due to three different injuries but he’s still managed 14 goal contributions in 26 league appearances. Based on pure footballing aspects, the winger does not need to return to England because he seems very happy at Camp Nou however if Barcelona do decide to cash in on him then joining a Liverpool team without Mo Salah would make much more sense rather than competing with Kulusevski at Tottenham.
