Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the subject of a transfer interest from a number of top European clubs this season and now Real Madrid have also joined the list – as per reports.

The Gabon international is about to enter the final year of his contract at Arsenal and right now the Gunners are frantically trying to make him sign a new deal at the club.

But as things stand, Aubameyang wants a salary which is deemed too high for Arsenal and if things aren’t sorted out anytime soon then the Gunners might just be forced to sell him off in the summer.

Teams like Barcelona and Manchester United are already in the hunt for the 30-year-old and now Real Madrid have also made initial enquiries regarding the forward.

Get Football News France reports: “Our colleagues at France Football report that Spanish side Real Madrid have made an initial enquiry for Arsenal and Gabon attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“The Gunners spent €64m to acquire the player from Dortmund in January 2018, but now find themselves in a situation where his contract expires in 12 months time this summer, with no contract extension in sight.”

Will Real Madrid be able to sign Aubameyang?

With each passing day, it seems like Aubameyang is drifting further away from a new deal at the Emirates and at this rate, Arteta will have no other option but to cash in on him.

But we don’t think Real Madrid will be the club who will be able to get their hands on the Gabon international in the summer.

Real Madrid were expected to get rid of Luka Jovic this summer but recent rumours suggest that Zidane is willing to pin his faith on the Serbian for one more season.

This would mean the centre-forward’s position is already occupied by Karim Benzema and Jovic which is why Aubameyang will surely not get a shot at the striker’s role.

At Arsenal, the forward has often operated down the left-wing since Lacazette likes to play down the middle but at Madrid that space is owned by former Chelsea man Eden Hazard and it will be next to impossible for Zizou to shift the Belgian from his favoured role.

So all in all while Aubameyang will undoubtedly be a fine signing for Real Madrid we just don’t see where the player will fit in next season. And since he would want consistent game time at his new club, we are more than certain Auba will snub a move to the Bernabeu in the summer.
