West Ham United have had a terrible start to the new season losing both of their opening games in the Premier League and that Hammers will have everything to play for when they take on Arsenal next weekend.

The London outfit have signed a number of players during the summer transfer window spending more than a 100 million pounds and it seems that they have also succeeded in keeping one of their owns at the club.

According to the latest reports, 19-year-old defender Reece Oxford has committed his future to the club.

Oxford started his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur and then moved to West Ham United back in 2011 and now the player has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2020.

After signing the contract, Reece Oxford said: “The manager has expressed his desire to keep me at the club and I want to repay the faith he has shown in me,

“I’m ready if they need me. I believe they do need me. So I’ll be ready.”

Reece Oxford has spent the last couple of seasons out on loan to clubs like Reading and Mönchengladbach and the 19-year-old has made only a single appearance for West Ham United in the Premier League.

But surely Reece Oxford signing a new contract with the club is a huge boost for Manuel Pellegrini since the player has been compared to England legend Rio Ferdinand.
