Much like a lot of other big teams in the World Cup this year, Brazil too failed to pick up all three points during their opening game after being held to a 1-1 draw by Switzerland on Sunday.

Philippe Coutinho gave Brazil the lead early on in the first half courtesy of a wonderful curling effort but the Swiss managed to claw their way back into the match and eventually equalised through Steven Zuber in the 50th minute.

After this, the gloves came off for Brazil and Neymar and co went all out on attack. Sadly enough for the South American side, Switzerland held onto their nerves and in the end managed to take a much-deserved point from the game.

The whole world was watching Neymar – expecting the PSG star to show his heroics against a much weaker Swiss side but regrettably, the forward failed to turn on the heat.

But Brazilian legend and 2002 World Cup winner Roberto Carlos has gone on to claim that apart from Neymar there is one more player who has the ability to lead Brazil to World Cup glory.

‘Neymar is going to be marvellous in Russia and win the trophy for us,’ Carlos said.

‘But you know who else is going to have a big World Cup? Willian. ‘People talk about [Lionel] Messi, [Cristiano] Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar, but for me, Willian is right up there.

‘He’s in really good form and always takes responsibility on the pitch.

‘He’s a quiet guy who keeps to himself, but he’s going to surprise a lot of people this summer.

‘Willian is going to be the best player at the tournament, alongside Neymar.’

Willian is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the Brazilian side but we personally do not expect him to work miracles during the World Cup.

And this is purely based on his form during the 2017-18 season with Chelsea.

Willian was constantly in and out of Antonio Conte’s side during the previous season and it was only during the last couple of months that the Brazilian saw any real game time at Stamford Bridge.
