Liverpool welcome Spurs in the Premier League on Saturday and Roberto Firmino could make a comeback to the matchday squad.

The forward has been on the sidelines for a few weeks with a foot injury but his manager has now confirmed that Bobby has returned to training and is in contention to make a return.

Klopp said in his pre-match press conference: “I don’t know[if he will start or not], but he is back in training, so now we have to make a decision about that.

“The foot thing didn’t let him do a lot. We had to let it settle and now we have to make sure that he has a few proper sessions. Obviously, we have enough games still, so it’s very important that we have to make sure that we get him in the best possible shape.

“I didn’t make a decision but it might be possible, that it makes for him more sense just to train through the weekend and be then a big step closer for Tuesday, for example.

“But let’s see. Yesterday he was in training, was great.”

Will Roberto Firmino be able to break into the Liverpool starting line up?

Firmino’s return is a very big boost for Jurgen Klopp but in reality, he will only find a place on the bench, even if he is 100% fit.

The trio of Luis Diaz, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have worked brilliantly for Liverpool and Klopp also has Diogo Jota as a backup. Diaz has taken no time to settle into the Liverpool side since his arrival in January so he’s a guaranteed starter for the Liverpool vs Spurs tie.

He will occupy the left-hand side of attack which means Sadio Mane has to play through the middle, something which he has been doing efficiently for the previous few weeks.

Even if Firmino is not available for Saturday’s match, Klopp won’t be sweating too much but on a personal front, Roberto Firmino will want to make a comeback as quickly as possible.
