Wilfried Zaha failed miserably at Manchester United but during the past few weeks, the Ivorian has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

After returning back to Crystal Palace from Man United back in 2015, the winger has revived his career and last season he was the best player at Selhurst Park.

Unai Emery is keen to add some freshness to his attacking lineup and Sky Sports had reported the Gunners having launched a bid for Wilfried Zaha.

The report claimed that Arsenal had made a £40 million to sign the Ivorian international despite Palace wanting nothing less than £80 million.

Now though rumours have it that Wilfried Zaha has asked to leave the international camp in order to return back to London and complete his transfer to Arsenal.

As per the report, “According to our information, indeed, Wilfried Zaha would have asked to leave the rally to reach England … For a transfer case.”

It is still unclear as to what the details are regarding the transfer but there is no way that Palace would have agreed to sell off their most prized possession for just £40 million.

Also, Arsenal paying £80 million for Wilfried Zaha will not be possible since Unai Emery does not have that much budget this transfer window.

But the report claims that it is the winger who desperately wants to make a move to Arsenal in order to prove that he can be a success at a big club. And if that is the case then it will be really tough for the Eagles to hold onto him.

Man United have also been linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha this summer but we do not feel Solskjaer would try and resign the winger – especially for a fee of £80 million. Rather, United would be happy to see Wilfried Zaha join Arsenal and take the hefty sell on percentage in return.

MAJOR UPDATE:

Now though major publications in London are claiming that it might be impossible for the Gunners to land Wilfried Zaha this summer and Emery is now looking at alternatives.

One name that has cropped up as back-up to Zaha is that of Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser.

The reports suggest Arsenal have rekindled their interest in winger Ryan Fraser as he is will cost only a fraction of what Palace are demanding for Wilfried Zaha.

Ryan Fraser only has one year left on his current deal with the Cherries meaning that a fee of around £20 million should be enough for Arsenal to land him this summer.
