Ryan Kent had a phenomenal last season with Rangers as he went on to win the SPFA Young Player of the Year. And now Steven Gerrard is trying really hard to bring him back.

Initially, it was reported that a number of clubs were interested in signing the Liverpool youngster for the upcoming season but one by one every club seems to have fallen out of the race and once again, Rangers are in pole position.

But it seems to be taking ages to bring back Ryan Kent and some rumours claim that Liverpool are not too keen to send him out on loan once again.

And this is exactly what the Rangers boss has indicated in his latest statement.

“The only way we’ll have a conversation is if Liverpool phone and say he’s available to go on loan,” said Gerrard.

“I would be repeating myself if I said that we want him. I’ve made that pretty clear. But that situation is in Liverpool’s hands at the moment.”

Gary McAllister had said last month that if Liverpool plan to send Ryan Kent out on loan then the Gers will most certainly be the first in line.

McAllister said last month: “It is ongoing, but the decisions at Liverpool will probably be later down the line. Is he worth the wait? I would say so.

“He has got a rapport with the fans and there is no doubt he enjoyed his time here. That’s on the pitch, in and around the training ground and the city as well – he enjoyed Glasgow.

“We have to be aware that Liverpool might receive bids, but you don’t know. If Ryan is to go back out on loan again, I think we’d be first in line.”

It looks like Liverpool want to offload Ryan Kent permanently this time and not keen his as a burden which is why the Anfield outfit are looking for a club who can sign him permanently.

While Rangers would love to do that but Liverpool reportedly want around 10-12 million pounds for Ryan Kent which is something that the Gers just cannot afford to pay.
