Rangers FC beat St Johnstone 5-1 this weekend and full-back Jon Flanagan is all praise for youngster Ryan Kent.

Kent – a Liverpool academy product joined the Light Blues during the summer on a season-long loan deal and the youngster is quickly turning out to be the acquisition of the summer for Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard knew the talent Ryan Kent possessed when the Gers manager was in charge of the Anfield academy so when he was appointed as the new manager of Rangers, the former midfielder wasted no time in bringing Ryan Kent to Ibrox.

Kent is one of the finer players to come out of the Liverpool academy in recent years but he has been unable to break into the first eleven given that the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are standing infront of him.

But here at Ibrox, the winger is virtually getting a free run and regular appearances have significantly boosted his confidence.

Ryan Kent has already played 12 games for the Light Blues  – scoring one and assisting one.

And after his fine performances against St Johnstone, Jon Flanagan was all praises for the youngster.

Talking to The Record, Jon Flanagan said:

“He has been brilliant since he has come in. I have seen the talent that he is and he was probably unlucky not to get a goal today,

“He is going to be massive for us this season. It is a long season and he is going to be needed.”

Ryan Kent’s impressive performance during the season will not only help Rangers in a bid to win the Premiership but he is also turning himself into a future asset for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
