Liverpool winger Ryan Kent spent the previous season out on loan to Rangers FC but with his contract expiring he has now returned back to Anfield.

Ryan Kent had a wonderful season under Steven Gerrard scoring a flurry of goals and also being named as the SPFA Young Player of the Year.

But despite such a successful campaign, there’s no place for him in the Liverpool first team squad and Jurgen Klopp is more than willing to send out on loan yet again.

Recently though, the 22-year-old had claimed that he is not too keen on moving around as a loanee and he eventually wants to settle down at one club.

Ryan Kent said“I want to kick-start my career somewhere now. I am tired of changing clubs each year, I want to settle down somewhere,

“Liverpool have been good to me, but the enjoyment factor of going back there each year and doing well in pre-season and going back out on loan, it is a repetitive cycle.

“I have three years left on my contract at Liverpool and there’s not much I can really do.”

And it looks like newly promoted side Aston Villa can help Ryan Kent fulfil that dream as reports have suggested that Dean Smith wants to buy the winger permanently.

This would have been a huge blow for Steven Gerrard and his plans for Rangers next season but BBC journalist Danny Mills believes that it will be the Gers who will eventually get their hands of Ryan Kent during this summer.

“I think Steven Gerrard has more sway than Marcelo Bielsa in this situation,” he told Football Insider.

“Kent did well at Rangers last season, Gerrard rates him highly and knows him from Liverpool. There is likely to be a bit of hero worship of Gerrard from the player.

“He had a decent time in Scotland last season and he is a top young player. Rangers want to sign him permanently or on loan, and I think they have a very good chance. He would be a fabulous addition to the Rangers squad. He has had a decent time in Scotland already, and it looks like another loan deal.”
