Liverpool somehow managed to pick up a win against Wolves last week in the Premier League but Sadio Mane had to miss much of the match due to an injury.

The African player of the year picked up a thigh injury during the first half of the match which forced him to walk off the pitch and now it looks like the player will also miss Liverpool’s clash vs West Ham United in midweek.

The Reds did have an FA Cup tie this weekend but the manager chose to name only a second-string side during that match but speaking after the game, Klopp had admitted that the injury to Sadio Mane does not look good.

The manager had told reporters as quoted by the club’s official website: “No, I think he is in the scan in this moment.

“They didn’t call me out of the scan, so, no. [Fingers crossed], yes.”

Apart from Sadio Mane, the manager has other injury concerns with the likes of James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri also likely to miss out but he did mention that Naby Keita will return back to training and the midfielder has an outside chance of travelling to the London Stadium on Wednesday.

Klopp added: “Dejan trained completely normally, until the game it’s a week [back] so should be fine.

“For Shaq and Millie, I think it’s too early. Naby, we will have to see. My information is that he will be part of training today and then we have to see.

“It was not too long, but how he looks and so on. For the boys that didn’t play longer than a half yesterday, today will be a very, very important session and kind of an intense session.

“It’s minus two [days] to the game so there is always intensity. We will see if he can be part of that completely – then he would be an option. If not, then not.”

With Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri both ruled out for the West Ham United game, Divock Origi will be the obvious choice to start on the left flank but the Liverpool will surely lose a lot of bench strength especially in case his team does need to chase the game.
