Rangers FC signed Alfredo Morelos from Helsinki back in 2017 and during in his first season in Scotland, the Colombian international was the only bright spark for the Gers in an otherwise poor season.

And this season too, the striker has held on to his fine form scoring a flurry of goals for the Glasgow based outfit.

Despite missing a number of matches through suspension, Alfredo Morelos has managed to clock up 30 goals and 11 assists across all competitions for Rangers which has seemingly brought him to the notice of a number of top European clubs.

Clubs like Lyon, Leicester City and Newcastle United are all said to be interested in signing him during the summer transfer window and but some experts feel that Gerrard should try and hold onto him for one more season if he wants to compete vs Celtic for the Premiership title.

Spurs player Davinson Sanchez who happens to be the international teammate of Alfredo Morelos has hinted that if the striker wants to flourish then he should be looking to make a move out of Ibrox during the summer.

Davinson Sanchez said: “Alfredo is a good guy. He is doing really well and has scored a lot of goals during the season.

“We are friends. We have played a lot of games together from young ages. He’s only human and it can be that he makes mistakes but the most important thing is that he can improve on this.

“Can he reach the top level? Yeah, everyone can. When you are playing you have to be ready to go to the best and reach your level.

“I don’t know if he will change for another club but it’s also the case he can score more and more goals and become better than he is for his current club.

“Also his mentality is going to improve a lot. I would say all of the things that have happened in his life are going to be important for him to improve.”

Alfredo Morelos has himself claimed that he wishes to play in the Premier League – that being his ultimate dream and with the kind of money that the interested clubs are willing to splurge for him, we have serious doubts whether Gerrard can convince the Colombian to stay in Scotland for one more season.
