Neil Lennon was appointed the caretaker manager at Celtic when Brendan Rodgers chose to leave for Leicester City earlier this year.

And after taking care of the club really well, the Bhoys have now appointed Neil Lennon as the permanent manager at Celtic Park.

Neil Lennon revealed that “he was offered the job in the dressing room showers after his side beat Hearts at Hampden to win the Scottish Cup and seal a historic treble treble.”(as reported by the BBC)

The report also states that the manager has signed a 12-month rolling contract which will keep him at Celtic until next summer.

This surely will be a great boost for the players who up until now have really liked playing under Lennon but having said that the manager is also expected to bring in a couple of new signings this summer.

And dropping a hint as to where the major chunk of players might be coming from, the newly appointed boss told The Scottish Sun“Recruitment will be important, we want to freshen things up a little bit.

“You like to bring British players in but the market can be a bit inflated now because of what’s going on in England.

“That was always the case with the English Premier League but we felt we did some good business at the time.

“There are players in the British market who would appeal to us. We are working hard and we’ll do our business quietly and as quickly as we can.”

This news will surely excite a large number of Celtic fans but at the same time, it has gotten a few pundits worried.

Up until this past season, Celtic have been the most dominant force in the Premiership but slowly and steadily, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers seem to be catching up with their Old Firm rivals.

Many experts feel that after testing the waters during the previous season, Gerrard will finally be looking to challenge Celtic in the Premiership during the 2019-20 season.

And in such a scenario, Neil Lennon should try and bring in some big names in order to fend off the competition from the Gers.
