Gonzalo Higuain joined Chelsea on loan during the January transfer window which meant that Sarri could finally get rid of Alvaro Morata.

With the arrival of the Argentine, the Chelsea boss finally got the player he had wanted up front and everyone thought the Blues would finally be scoring goals.

Unfortunately, though, things have not panned out as they should have been and right now Gonzalo Higuain is struggling to find his feet at the club.

Chelsea drew vs Man United this weekend and once again the forward failed to impress continuously getting caught in an offside position.

So far this season, Gonzalo Higuain has played in 12 Premier League games and has managed to score only four goals and many pundits have already branded the Juventus man a flop.

But speaking in defence of the 31-year-old, Sarri has chosen to cite the example of former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez and his struggles during his maiden season in England.

“For a striker, it is difficult to get used to the Premier League, for every striker,” he told the BBC(as reported).

“I remember Suarez at Liverpool in the first season only scores three goals, then 16, then 24.

“But it’s difficult to adapt to this Premier League.

“I think in the next season he will be able to score a lot.”

Gonzalo Higuain is currently on loan until the end of the season from Juventus and while the Blues have an option to buy but that move might not be possible since the club have been slapped with a transfer embargo.

The only other option is if the player comes on board for the next season on yet another loan deal and replying to this the Italian manager said:

“I don’t know, I’m not in charge of the market so I cannot answer these questions,

“In theory, yes.”
