Serge Gnabry playing for Arsenal
Serge Gnabry playing for Arsenal

According to a report by Sky Germany, Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich.

The former Arsenal winger is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract with the Bundesliga club and if he refuses to sign a new deal then the Bavarians could look to cash in on him.

The 26-year-old is ready to remain with Bayern but he wants a better offer from the club and now all eyes are on the Bundesliga side if they are ready to raise the stakes in order to hold onto him.

Will Bayern Munich allow him to leave?

Bayern Munich will definitely not want to lose such an influential player but the Germans do not have the habit of being held ransom.

He joined Bayern in 2018 and since then he’s scored 59 goals in 154 games for the club. This season, he’s netted 10 and assisted three goals in 21 Bundesliga games.

The Bavarians are not known to give humungous salaries to their players and if Serge Gnabry is asking for a significant pay rise then there’s every chance the club will let him go in the summer.

Should Man United or Liverpool bring him back to England?

Serge Gnabry has been on fire ever since moving to Bayern Munich but his stint in the Premier League was a major failure.

He spent three years with Arsenal(2012-15) and he had managed to play only 18 games, scoring a single goal.

Based on his current form, he will elevate either Man United or Liverpool but looking back at his Arsenal days, we are not sure if the two interested sides should go after him.

There’s a chance that Mo Salah could leave Liverpool which is why Jurgen Klopp is planning to make a move for a right-winger like Serge Gnabry. Mason Greenwood’s playing career looks all but over which is why Man United are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old.

Looking back at his past, we are not sure if the winger will want to return back to the Premier League but if Bayern are not willing to meet his demands then the German will have no other option but to listen to offers during the upcoming transfer window.
