Premier League side Arsenal are planning to send left-back Sead Kolasinac on a year-long loan deal to his former club Schalke, as per Sky Germany.

The report claims: “According to Sky information, FC Schalke is working on a return campaign for Arsenal London’s Sead Kolasinac.

“According to Sky information, Kolasinac is willing to return to Germany for private reasons. Initial discussions have already been held. The big sticking point in the negotiations between the three parties is currently still the salary of the defensive player.

“A loan to S04, in which the salary of the Gunner professional is to be divided between Arsenal and Schalke, is up for debate.

But even with a division of the salary, the defender would have to make cuts. At Arsenal, Kolasinac currently earns around eight million euros.”

Should Sead Kolasinac be sent to Germany?

Sead Kolasinac has been a decent player since joining the Emirates outfit but in the past couple of months, young Kieran Tierney has proved that he is going to be the long-term left-back at the club.

Initially, Tierney took time to settle down but now he is undoubtedly Arteta’s first-choice left-back which is why the manager might be willing to part ways with Sead Kolasinac.

Apart from Tierney, young Bukayo Saka has also played as a left full-back this past season and has done pretty well. And this is yet another reason why the Gunners are planning to send Sead Kolasinac back to Schalke in the hope of reducing their wage bill.
