Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains the only manager who has picked up points vs Liverpool this season in the Premier League and the Norwegian has claimed that he has cracked the formula of halting the Anfield outfit.

Man United picked up a hard-fought 1-0 win vs Wolves in the 3rd Round FA Cup replay this week and speaking after the match, Solskjaer revealed that he can stop Liverpool much like he’s done in the recent past.

‘Of course, it is hard, but I’ve had Liverpool here twice, we’ve drawn both,’ Solskjaer said after the FA Cup victory over Wolves on Wednesday night via The Metro.

‘Of course, you want to win them games but I think we’ve found a nice way of playing against them and we’ve deserved the points in both of them.

‘Let’s just wait and see, because it’s a couple of days before I see you again so let’s talk about Liverpool then.’

VERDICT:

There’s no denying that Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has performed exceptionally well against the big names this season.

Last month, the Red Devils managed to pick up all three points vs Spurs and then Manchester City – two matches in which everyone expected them to win.

But the tactical frailties of Solskjaer were laid bare a couple of days ago when Man City absolutely ripped apart their city rivals in the EFL Cup.

City won that match 3-1 and it was a managerial masterclass from Pep Guardiola to which Solskjaer had no reply.

And we feel Jurgen Klopp falls in that very same bracket meaning if the Norwegian wishes to outsmart the Liverpool boss then not only will he have to ensure he puts forward a flawless plan but he’ll also have to squeeze out every drop of passion from his players on Sunday.
