Manchester United forward Anthony Martial was left out of the France squad for the upcoming World Cup and the player could very well join a new Premier League club for the upcoming campaign.
Martial joined Manchester United in 2015 from AS Monaco for an initial fee of £36 million and the youngster had an immediate impact on the team.
But ever since Jose Mourinho has taken charge of the Red Devils, Martial’s importance in the first eleven has diminished.
The situation turned bad to worse for the forward after Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal during the January transfer window.
The arrival of Sanchez has seen the French International fall down the pecking order and now if rumours are to believed then Jose Mourinho has decided to offload Martial during the summer transfer window.
A series of top European clubs are interested in signing Anthony Martial but according to the latest reports, Spurs and Arsenal are the frontrunners.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has pinpointed Martial as the final piece in the Gunners’ attacking jigsaw puzzle while Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been able to convince Daniel Levy to sanction a move for Martial in the upcoming weeks.
If we go by the report and consider Arsenal and Tottenham as the two favourites to land Martial then clearly Arsenal have the upper hand in this.
It is no secret that Spurs operate on a very tight budget and if they manage to convince Manchester United to sell Anthony Martial even then they would have to struggle on agreeing to the Frenchman’s wage demands.
