Spurs beat Ajax in sensational fashion in the Champions League semi-final and will now take on Liverpool in the final at the Metropolitano.

But no one can really deny that Spurs found them in a bit of a fix and it was just a superb performance from Lucas Moura during the final 45 minutes of the second leg that helped wing the tie in their favour.

Yes, the Lilywhites got over the line vs Ajax who were a bit naive but there is no denying that Liverpool will offer them no such luxuries.

And hence, Pochettino has revealed that he is preparing his side for an emotional rollercoaster ride when the two sides meet.

Poch said (via Football London): “That[emotional side] is one of the areas we prepared the most.

“We prepare some strategy in this area to work, like tactical and physical but it is about emotion. We designed some strategy to work every single day about that. Football is a context of emotion.

“After five years I tell you the same. The final is going to be decisive, not a battle of Pochettino vs Klopp, or a tactical battle, it will be about the emotion and that will be decisive.

“Whoever manages better the emotional area is going to be close to win.”

Pochettino broke down in tears after Lucas Moura scored that injury-time winner to send Spurs into the finals.

But the Argentine knows fully well that his side will need more than tactics to overcome a Liverpool side which has lost only a single game in the Premier League this season and has also overcome Barcelona in fine fashion during the semis of the UCL.

The Spurs boss has also urged his senior players to step up and lead the side on the pitch but we believe that mantle will be taken on Harry Kane now that the striker is fit to play in the final.
