Tottenham Hotspur will take on Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday in the Premier League and after a surprising draw against Everton, Spurs will be eager to bounce back with a commanding win.

As the season’s rolled along, Spurs have lost a lot of steam and while their hopes for a title push have fizzled out, their Champions League dream is still very much alive.

The last time these two sides met was back in December and Brighton won that match. That 2-4 defeat was the last loss for Spurs in the 2023 calendar year and since then, Ange’s side have lost only one game, which was a 0-1 defeat vs Manchester City.

Tottenham can go all out to pick up an emphatic win this weekend because three points will push them from fifth to the fourth spot. However, a loss won’t allow Manchester United to catch up with them meaning their fifth spot will be intact.

Tottenham’s team news and injuries:

There are a lot of positives for the Spurs manager because Son, Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr have all returned to North London and the manager has revealed that all three are in contention to feature vs the Seagulls.

Giovanni Lo Celso has also fully recovered from his strain injury and could feature in some capacity.

“Yeah, they’re all good,” Ange said in his pre-match press conference. “Biss had a slightly longer trip and then Sonny had a pretty tough tournament in terms of the extra-time matches and late finishes but both trained today and are in good spirits.

“It’s good to get the guys back in the building. All three of them were representing their countries, unfortunately, their tournaments have ended early but we’re the beneficiaries of that. Then Gio’s back training with the group which is good and he’s had a good week in training.

“It’s been good for the lads to see everyone back together as it’s been a while since we’ve had everyone training, today was kind of the first session where everyone was in which was good to see.”

Bissouma and Sarr should both come back into defensive midfield for Spurs which will push Hojbjerg and Bentancur to the bench.

James Maddison’s return has also boosted Tottenham’s creative spark but January signing Timo Werner is yet to kick start his career in North London.

Werner has been operating on the left-hand side but since Son is coming back, the German international will play a substitute role on Saturday.
