Alisson Becker Liverpool news
Alisson Becker - Liverpool

Liverpool suffered just their second league defeat of this season which was a 3-1 loss to Arsenal last weekend but that defeat has come at the worst possible time for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The defeat has put the Premier League title race wide open with Arsenal and Manchester City both breathing down their necks. The Anfield outfit will welcome Burnley at home this weekend and the Reds cannot afford any more setbacks.

Liverpool have to get back to winning ways on Saturday because MCFC have a game in hand and if they win that they will automatically move to the top of the table. Burnley are currently 19th on the EPL table with just three wins against their name so Liverpool should be picking up an easy win. Also, the home side has a great record against Kompany’s side winning 8 of their last 10 matches against Burnley in all competitions.

Liverpool’s team news and injury problems:

The loss to Arsenal has made things really complex for Liverpool because Jurgen Klopp will be without some very important players this weekend.

Thiago has picked up yet another injury and the midfielder is likely to be unavailable. Tsimikas is recovering from a broken collarbone and while he has returned to training, the defender is not fit to play.

Apart from these two, Mo Salah, Bajcetic, Dominik Szoboszlai and Joel Matip are also going to miss out.

Ibrahima Konate is unavailable as he serves a one-match suspension and this is a big headache for the manager because Joe Gomez and Van Dijk are the only two experienced central defenders remaining. Thankfully, Robertson has returned so he will come into left-back allowing Gomez to play alongside Van Dijk.

Endo, however, has returned to the club after his AFC Asian Cup endeavours and he is in contention to feature.

Conor Bradley missed the Arsenal game due to his father’s unfortunate demise but he will also return. He did great against Chelsea and could replace Trent on the right-hand side of defence.

Liverpool predicted line up vs Burnley:

Predicted starting line up(4-3-3): Alisson; Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent/Bradley, Robertson; Endo, Mac Allister, Curtis Jones; Luis Diaz, Nunez, Diogo Jota.
