Jose Mourinho’s Spurs welcome Manchester United this Friday as the 2019-20 Premier League season resumes.

The break has been really helpful for the Spurs boss to gather his thoughts since right before the lockdown, the Lilywhites were knocked out of the Champions League and of the FA Cup and they have failed to pick up a win in the three of their last six league games.

The London side will undoubtedly be going into this match as the slight underdogs but if Mourinho’s side can manage to pick up a win they will once again be within touching distance of a top-four finish by the end of the season.

But having said this, the Portuguese manager will have to deal with a few injuries and suspensions going into this match meaning Jose might not be able to name his strongest starting XI on Friday.

Spurs team news vs Man United:

Hugo Lloris will start in goal but the big problem for Mourinho is with the injury to Japhet Tanganga.

The centre-back picked up a lower back injury during training and is expected to miss out on the Spurs vs Man United clash meaning Davinson Sanchez will play in central defence alongside Toby Alderweireld.

Moussa Sissoko is also back from injury which is a big boost for the Spurs manager and the 30-year-old will play in midfield alongside Harry Winks while Ndombele is also expected to make it to the starting line-up.

Giovani Lo Celso could be absentee due to his fitness concerns and the same could be the case with Son Heung-Min who used the lockdown to finish his military training in South Korea.

Erik Lamela could start on the left-wing in the absence of the Korean but some experts claim, Son should be fit enough to start vs Man United.

Dele Alli remains suspended for his insensitive comments on the coronavirus while young Troy Parrott has undergone surgery and will only return to training some time towards the end of this month.

Harry Kane is back to full fitness and will start up front meaning Steven Bergwijn will most probably drop back to the bench as Lucas Moura moves onto the right flank.

Jose Mourinho is expected to make a series of changes during the course of the match as the Spurs boss will look to fully utilize the extra substitutes.

Spurs’ predicted XI vs Manchester United:

Predicted starting line-up: Hugo Lloris; Ben Davies, Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier; Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Ndombele; Son/Lamela, Harry Kane, Lucas Moura/Bergwijn.
