Real Madrid have shown tremendous interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz during the upcoming transfer window.

An array of top European clubs want to bring the 21-year-old on board for the next season but with the entry of Real Madrid amidst the mix, everyone else was a bit sceptical since Havertz is really eager to play for the Bernabeu outfit.

The La Liga side have wasted no time in making a move for attacking midfielder but the good news is that Bayer Leverkusen have rejected the bid.

The report claims: “According to SPORTBUZZER information, super talent Kai Havertz would like to switch to the “royal team” – but Bayer Leverkusen has declined a first offer from Spain.

“As SPORT BUZZER learned, Havertz is moving to Spain. Real Madrid is currently the hottest candidate for a commitment and has even made a first offer with Bayer.

“However, according to SPORT BUZZER, this should be far from the 100 million euros that Bayer has set internally as a minimum limit and also communicated to Havertz ‘management, which his brother Jan also works for.

“Instead, the “Royal” want to “offset” two players, of which the Leverkusen officials should not, however, be completely convinced.”

Are Real Madrid out of the race to sign Kai Havertz?

This is great news for London-based club Chelsea as the Blues are really keen to bring Kai Havertz to the Stamford Bridge next season.

But Real Madrid are not going to give up so easily and are sure to return with an improved bid in the coming few weeks.

While Havertz is ready to move to the Premier League in order to progress his career but with a club Real Madrid now amongst the suitors, it now remains to be seen if teams like Chelsea or Manchester United can lure the 21-year-old to England or not.

Madrid not only have money to spend in the market this summer but they are also being managed by Zinedine Zidane, a coach every young player would love to work with.
