Eric Dier Spurs Premier League

Spurs have just lost 6-1 to Newcastle United and then they have gone ahead and sacked their interim manager. Now, to make matters worse, Tottenham will have to take on Manchester United.

After the humiliation at the hands of the Magpies, Spurs have parted ways with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason will now become the temporary head coach with immediate effect.

Tottenham were all over the place during the weekend and with this dented confidence they will have to take on Man United, a team who have kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League.

After this United game, Spurs will then face Liverpool and the result of these two matches will decide the fate of the club, not only for this season but also for the upcoming one.

Six points from these two games and Spurs will still be in the race to finish in the top four but if they somehow miss out then it will be very hard for Levy to bring in a world-class manager at the helm. They are currently fifth on the table while United are fourth but the Lilywhites are six points behind them having played two more games.

Tottenham team news and injuries:

Ben Davies was on the bench at St. James’ Park but we don’t think he will come into the starting line up to replace Ivan Perisic as the left wing-back.

Hugo Lloris is a major doubt after picking up an injury at the weekend and if the Frenchman is missing then Forster will hold onto his place. Lenglet is another player who will be assessed but he should be fit and available.

It will be interesting to see how Mason sets up the team but because this is Manchester United, he is likely to opt for a 3-2-4-1 formation.

Yves Bissouma is nearing full fitness but Thursday’s game will come too early for him. The midfield has been a major issue for Spurs because Bentancur and Bissouma are both sidelined which means Oliver Skipp has been playing alongside Hojbjerg.

Richarlison has massively fallen down the pecking order in the second half of the season now with a new coach coming in, it remains to be seen if he starts ahead of Kulusevski.

Spurs predicted line up vs Man United:

Predicted Starting line up(3-4-2-1): Forster; Lenglet, Eric Dier, Romero; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Porro, Ben Davies/Perisic; Son, Kane, Kulusevski/Richarlison.
