On Sunday, Man United beat Brighton to reach the final of the FA Cup and next up, they have a crunch Premier League tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are pushing Man United and Newcastle for a place in the top four but the North London side are a complete mess right now so this one should be a fairly easy win for the Red Devils.
Tottenham just suffered a 6-1 loss at the hands of Newcastle United and this is their lowest point in quite a few seasons. On the other hand, Man United go into this midweek fixture brimming with confidence and a win in this game will more or less allow them to secure a place in the top four.
The home side will throw the kitchen sink at Manchester United so Ten Hag’s team will have to be on their toes. A major issue for the United boss is that his side are playing almost every midweek so fatigue could be a big issue.
Manchester United’s team news and injuries:
The injury list is very long for Man United and the biggest miss will be their defensive duo of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
Harry Maguire has been all over the place so we are confident that ETH will keep him on the bench and use Luke Shaw as the partner to Victor Lindelof.
Shaw playing in the middle means the left-back position is up for grabs and just like the previous few games, the Man United boss will rely on Dalot rather than Malacia.
Casemiro and Eriksen have been the central defensive fulcrum for Manchester United this season but Spurs break with pace which is why Fred could come into the side in place of Eriksen. Eriksen delivers a lot more in attacking scenarios but the Danish international doesn’t have the legs to track back and defend.
Alejandro Garnacho has been badly missed and the youngster is still on the sidelines which means Rashford has to play on the left wing.
Anthony Martial’s return has been a big boost for Ten Hag but he played 85 minutes on Sunday and given his injury history, the manager is likely to put Weghorst up front on Thursday.
Man United predicted line up vs Spurs:
Predicted Starting line up(4-2-3-1): De Gea; Shaw, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot/Malacia; Casemiro, Eriksen/Fred; Fernandes, Rashford, Antony; Weghorst/Martial.
