4-2-3-1 Spurs’ predicted line up vs West Ham United: Van de Ven back in the starting line up?

A fifth-place finish in the Premier League might be enough to qualify for the Champions League next season but Spurs will be pushing to secure the fourth spot, just to avoid any late nerves.

Tottenham beat Luton Town at the weekend and next up, they will face a sterner test in the form of West Ham United. Tottenham have had a mixed-bag result in recent weeks but they are just three points away from Aston Villa plus they have a game in hand.

The Hammers, on the other hand, have won just a single game in their previous five outings and it’s tough to see them pick up a positive result on Tuesday night. The last time these two sides met, West Ham came out on top but this time, it should be a regular win for Spurs. A win in midweek will help Tottenham Hotspur catch up with fourth-placed Villa but a loss won’t be the end of the world because fifth-placed Manchester United are eight points behind them.

Tottenham Hotspur’s team news and injuries:

The injury list is very small for Ange Postecoglou and none of the missing players are first-team regulars for Spurs.

Micky van de Ven recovered from his injury and was fit enough to make it to the bench against Luton Town but the centre-back will come back into the starting line up in midweek, replacing Radu Dragusin.

Spurs played Luton on Saturday and they head to the London Stadium on Tuesday night so it won’t be a surprise if the manager rests a few players to avoid any stress injuries.

Sarr, Bissouma and Maddison will hold onto their places in midfield but Ange will want to rest both Timo Werner and Kulusevski. The manager does have a few midfield options like Lo Celso and Hojbjerg that he can call upon but we don’t think he is going to risk breaking up such a stable trio.

Richarlison and Brennan Johnson both came off the bench for Spurs at the weekend but they will most likely be handed starting roles against the Hammers. If Richarlison comes into the side then he will play up front, allowing Son to move to the left flank.

Spurs predicted line up vs West Ham United:

Predicted Starting XI(4-2-3-1): Vicario; Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Porro; Sarr, Bissouma; James Maddison, Son, Johnson; Richarlison.
