Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard was appointed the Rangers FC manager last summer and during his time in Scotland, the former England international has impressed a number of people.

Before taking charge of the Teddy Bears, Gerrard was in charge of the Liverpool Under-18 side for the 2017–18 season where he had a pretty good spell.

But now Emile Heskey has come out to shockingly claim that Steven Gerrard had gotten the job at Ibrox only because of his skin colour.

He said(as quoted): “I couldn’t tell you why black people had to be bottom-feeders and then others can go wherever and get a job.

“I can point towards medals. Sol has got more than Stevie. Ashley Cole’s got more than any of them.

“They are going to get those jobs. I can only point towards skin colours.

“England’s best player for that era. Ash is being given a chance to get on that ladder with Chelsea Under-15s.”

Heskey’s statement has caused a fair bit of stir amongst the footballing community and especially the Rangers fans seem to have taken offence to this accusation.

Everyone had been waiting for a response from the Gers boss but Steven Gerrard instead of making a counter-statement has chosen to remain classy.

“I don’t have anything to say on that. I don’t really look out for any interviews that Emile Heskey does.” Gerrard responded.

The ex-England international is easily one of the most recognisable players in world football and apart from medals, he has also won the respect of his compatriots(due to his talents on the pitch).

And as far as the Rangers job is concerned, this is not the first time that Steven Gerrard has tried to get a managerial job. Back in 2016, the ex-Liverpool man had given an interview for the managerial post at MK Dons but then himself pulled out claiming that he was not ready.
