Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard has done an incredible job at Rangers ever since he took charge of the club and Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit feels the North London club needs someone like him to be their next manager.

Steven Gerrard might have failed to guide Rangers to the Premiership title last season but many Scottish pundits feel he will be able to achieve this feat given that he has gotten time to remould the Gers squad in his own vision.

And Petit feels the Gunners need a leader like him in the dugout if they want to bring back the glory days at the Emirates.

“The club needs a great leader now,” the Frenchman said[as quoted].

“Someone who can bring back the passion, someone respected by the players, someone who can fill the team with energy and the winning mentality.

“Steven Gerrard, for example, is like this.

“I want to see passion, emotion. Someone who, when he takes your hand, you can feel the electricity. I want someone who can bring that to the Arsenal dressing room because they need to wake up.”

Arsenal have hit a new low under the guidance of Unai Emery this season as they have now failed to pick up a win in their last four Premier League matches.

So naturally, everyone wants the Spaniard sacked as soon as possible despite the management standing firmly beside him – atleast until the end of the season.

And as far as Steven Gerrard being the next Arsenal manager is concerned, as good as it may sound but we don’t think the former England international will be keen to take charge of the Gunners.

Gerrard has always made it clear that managing Liverpool is his biggest goal and this managerial stint at Rangers is just a big step towards achieving that dream.

Right now Unai Emery seems to be in a safe place at Arsenal but if he cannot get things back on track pretty soon they the management might really have to look for alternatives.
