Liverpool had a very productive 2017-18 season under Jurgen Klopp and the Reds narrowly missed out on a major silverware after losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

But the fans are confident that this year will finally be their year after the management has spent a lot of money in trying to bring in reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

The Merseyside outfits have brought in goalkeeper Alisson Becker in order to plug that gaping hole infront of the posts and Jurgen Klopp has also signed midfield reinforcements in the form of Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Before the new season begins, a number of pundits have predicted that it will be Liverpool and not Manchester United who are likely to give a tough fight to defending champions Manchester City.

Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign this Sunday when they welcome Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United at Anfield.

And before former Liverpool midfielder and current Rangers FC manager has sent out a good luck message to his former side before they play their first game.

Talking to the media before Rangers’ Scottish Premiership game against St Mirren, Gerrard said: “I wish Liverpool all the best this season, everyone knows I’m a huge @LFC supporter and I wish them all the best for the coming season. They have a great squad and manager.”

Steven Gerrard has had a long relationship with Liverpool and even after being appointed as the new manager, the former England International has kept that association with the Reds going.

Ever since being appointed as the new manager at Ibrox, Gerrard has brought in the likes of Jon Flanagan, Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria from Liverpool.

Rangers are also in action this Sunday in the Scottish Premiership as they welcome St Mirren in what will be their first home game of the new season.
