Manchester City were scheduled to host West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend. But now as per the latest updates, the match has been postponed due to Storm Ciara.

A statement from Manchester City said:

“Due to extreme and escalating weather conditions and in the interests of supporter and staff safety, today’s match has been postponed.

“This decision has been made by Manchester City’s Safety Officer following consultation with Club stakeholders and officials at West Ham United.

“Further information regarding the rescheduling of today’s match will be published in due course.”

A new date is yet to announced but both the clubs have made it clear that tickets for the Man City vs West Ham United match will remain valid for the new date as well.

Storm Ciara has caused major disruption in the United Kingdom with winds of up to 80mph causing changed to many major services.

As per the Guardian: “Gusts of 63mph were recorded in South Uist, Tiree and Stornoway in Scotland on Saturday afternoon.

“Meanwhile, dozens of rail companies said they would operate a reduced service on Sunday with speed restrictions in place and Network Rail has restricted trains to 50mph across the majority of its lines.

“Grand Central has cancelled all its services between London, Bradford and Sunderland on Sunday.”
