Aberdeen manager takes a dig at Celtic FC

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has chosen to take a dig at Scottish giants Celtic FC and Rangers FC after his side drew 0-0 against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup.

The Dons were denied a penalty during the match to which their manager claimed that if such an incident had happened to either Celtic FC or Steven Gerrard’s men, it would have been national news.

As quoted by The Daily Record, he said: “We should get a penalty again. That’s three penalties we’ve been denied in the last five games.

“If it was Rangers and Celtic the whole world would know about it.

“Once again Matty Kennedy is brought down and it’s a penalty we haven’t been given. We should have had a penalty against Motherwell and St Mirren.

“It’s not good enough.”

McInnes was clearly frustrated that his side could not pull out a positive result against Kilmarnock but his dig at Celtic FC as well as Rangers was clearly uncalled for.

Especially since there have been numerous times when the Glasgow giants themselves have been robbed off decisions which clearly should have gone their way.

Also, this statement from the Dons manager will not go down too well with the Celtic team and they will surely have a chance to take revenge when the two sides meet in the Premiership next weekend.
