Ryan Jack will miss the Villarreal game

Rangers FC’s loss to Celtic FC this past weekend has come under heavy criticism from a number of football pundits who have blamed the manager from being too defensive during the derby.

Gerrard played with a 3-5-2 formation during the game but instead of controlling the midfield, all the Light Blues did was to thump long balls forward.

But it seems that the Gers players are finding it hard to digest the defeat and almost every one of them has been pointing to that controversial foul seconds before Celtic scored the only goal of the season.

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack was fouled just before the goal but the referee chose to ignore it and let the play go on.

And this move from the referee has clearly infuriated Jack who has come out to say that the referee – Willie Collum should be demoted after his below average conduction of the match.

While a lot of fans have seconded Ryan Jack’s comment but football pundit Chris Sutton had a totally different view as he chose to attack the midfielder instead.

Replying to Ryan Jack’s comments, Sutton said that the player himself should be demoted for a poor performance during the derby.

Sutton wrote: “Willie Collum could call for Ryan Jack to be demoted after being anonymous for most of the game on Sunday.”

Those are some pretty harsh words from Chris Sutton but the fact of the matter is, Rangers FC looked to be a sure shot title challenger for the 2018-19 season but they now have only five points from four games in the Premiership.

On the other hand, Celtic who had a pretty poor summer transfer window are second on the league table with nine points.

Rangers will take on Dundee once they return from the international break and if they fail to win that game then surely the pressure will start mounting on Steven Gerrard.
