Bayern Munich come to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night to take on Chelsea in the Champions League and speaking before the match, Frank Lampard has hinted at one possible problem which his players could face.

The manager has chosen to lay his faith on multiple youngsters this season, primarily because he could not buy any new players in the summer. And up until now, these youngsters have not let their boss down.

But speaking before their clash against Bayern Munich, Lampard has hinted that the mentality of the young players in his squad could be a roadblock for them on Tuesday.

The manager has admitted that he has his work cut out in trying to keep help his youngsters keep up the spirits.

The Chelsea boss said via Football London: “A big part of my job. We have players with experience but also younger players. They have to understand about the mindset levels. A big part of my job tomorrow is we need to be at our maximum.

“We must make sure every detail is ticked in both games. Can’t get caught up in moments. There will be times when we suffer because Bayern are incredible with the ball but that’s our job over the next two games.

“I will speak to them but I trust them. It changes when you get to the knockout stages but they played in the group stages.

“My job is to prepare for the game, look at the opponent and try to find weaknesses. Understand if people call us underdogs because Bayern are so strong. Maybe we don’t have their experience but we’re here to turn it around, overcome. Those are the best stories in sport.

“We’re playing well, a lot good, but the important parts – final third, finishing and making sure we don’t concede – was slight short.

“If you have 20 shots, don’t score and the other team shoot twice and score and that recurs it is an issue. It can maybe be focus, confidence.

“The things I’m talking about are what we can improve on. Everyone felt the same. The reaction against Tottenham was spot on. We can’t forget what made us beat Tottenham. We need to replicate that, keep it going.”
