Liverpool welcome Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League next weekend and this is a very important encounter for both the managers.

If the Reds manage to pick up the three points on Sunday then they will open up a nine-point lead at the top of the table. And if City can do the same then they will move within just three points from the top of the table.

Many people have predicted that it will be Jurgen Klopp who will be under more stress going into this game since Liverpool managed to throw away a similar lead last season in the Premier League and in the end it was Man City who lifted the trophy.

But according to Sam Allardyce, it is the Man City manager who will be under more pressure since his side just cannot afford to lose or else the league might very well be over for them.

“Pep, because he can’t lose,” Allardyce told talkSPORT when asked which manager will feel more pressure.

“He doesn’t have to win it at all, he’s got to make sure he doesn’t lose it for a certainty.

“And if he can pinch the win it turns the pressure back on Liverpool.

“But certainly the pressure is all on Pep and the [Man City] players.

“It’s a very difficult place with the fact Liverpool haven’t lost there [Anfield] in over two years, but if any team can go and win there it would be Manchester City.”

Liverpool this season have managed to score a number of late goals which goes on to show that they have not been able to kill off games early enough.

And this is something that Pep Guardiola will be hugely focusing on.

Man City will need to score two or three goals if they wish to secure all the three points and stop Liverpool from staging a comeback.

The Reds though will feel that the onus is on them since they will be playing at home and so far they are yet to taste defeat in the Premier League this season.
