AC Milan have cooled their interest in Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira as they want to sign Chelsea’s forgotten man, Tiemoue Bakayoko instead, according to Calciomercato.
The report claims: “With a newfound serenity and total conviction, the club has regrouped after the choice to go ahead with Stefano Pioli, the management works on the market.
“In fact, in these hours Milan is preparing its first offer for Tiemoué Bakayoko, enthusiastic to be able to return to the Rossoneri because he remained very attached to the club, the environment and the fans, complete with a visit in the derby last February in the belly of San Siro.
“All this while the club slowed down on the names of Dusan Vlahovic and Lucas Torreira, both of whom have been welcome for some time but not considered a priority at this stage of the transfer market.
“Not at the top of the list today, for the Devil.”
Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan only a matter of time?
Lucas Torreira had been wanted by Milan for a really long time and Mikel Arteta was expected to accumulate a fair amount of transfer funds from the sale of the South American.
But this new development regarding Tiemoue Bakayoko has clearly thrown a spanner into the works of the Gunners and it looks like Chelsea are about to gather some much-needed funds.
The Blues want around 30 million euros for the sale of Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer but as per the report, AC Milan instead want a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.
Under normal circumstances, Chelsea should not agree to this deal but the former Monaco man is completely useless to Frank Lampard right now so it will be wise on his part to let the midfielder venture out instead of holding onto him and further inflating the wage bill.
As far as Lucas Torreira is concerned, Arsenal are reportedly looking to still send him back to Italy, this time in a swap deal for Roma’s Amadou Diawara.
