Tiemoue Bakayoko spent the 2018-19 season out on loan to AC Milan and it was more or less certain that the Serie A outfit was going to make the deal permanent this summer.

But by the end of the season, Gattuso was not the manager anymore and the club failed to qualify for the Champions League too. And this is why they chose to send back Tiemoue Bakayoko back to Chelsea once his loan deal expired.

Initially, there were rumours that the midfielder could be loaned out on again but then his manager made it clear that he is planning to stay at Stamford Bridge next season.

“There are some pretty interesting, quite heavy clubs that have inquired, but we give priority to Chelsea,” he told L’Equipe.

“We already know, there is the Champions League and we are looking for stability, Tiemoue has decided to stay there.”

Now though it looks like new Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has made up his mind regarding the Frenchman and suddenly a series of teams have been linked with him.

Yesterday reports had emerged that Manchester United were looking to make a move for Tiemoue Bakayoko as a direct replacement for Nemanja Matic in defensive midfield.

And just a day later, it is being claimed that Arsenal too have entered the race to sign the Chelsea midfielder and are ready to battle it out with Solskjaer’s Man United.

Man United have made an enquiry about the midfielder and it is being claimed that Frank Lampard will make a final call regarding the player’s future during the pre-season games.

The Blues originally had planned life without Tiemoue Bakayoko next season but now that he is back, the new boss can surely use the fresh pair of legs.

Many experts feel that Chelsea should not make the mistake of selling him off given that they will not be able to sign any new players this summer due to the transfer ban.

But the likes of Man United and Arsenal are hopeful of the fact that Chelsea will allow Tiemoue Bakayoko to leave the club given that they have managed to secure the services of Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid.
